Ofsted 8th-9th February

The school welcomes three inspectors from Ofsted who will be visiting on the 8th & 9th of February this week as part of the routine school inspection schedule.  On the 6th February, each student was handed a letter (from Ofsted) during the last lesson of the day to bring home with them.  There is a feedback questionnaire as part of the letter for the inspection team so they can guage your views.  If you would like further detail about what an inspection entails please see this article on the Ofsted website.

We look forward to sharing our school and our successes with the inspection team.

Welcome to ASHS:

It is a great pleasure to introduce you to our school website and hope you find in it all the information that you need. Possibly the greatest strength of the school is its friendly atmosphere and sense of community.

We are proud of our well-deserved high reputation as the only Church of England VA High School in East Anglia. Archbishop Sancroft has become an increasingly popular choice amongst parents due to:

  • Our high standard of teaching
  • Our comparatively small size which means we really can offer Christian child-centred education
  • Our focus on developing the whole person - physical, social, moral and spiritual

The school’s Mission Statement, bringing together both spiritual and educational goals, sets out the aims to which all who work in the school aspire:

Our Mission

In keeping with our Christian values, the School Staff, Students, Parents and Governors, will work together to encourage a real enthusiasm for learning and pride in our school.

As a team, we aim to offer education which is challenging, informing, exciting and enjoyable. We will have succeeded if everyone is given the chance to achieve the best results possible, and is equipped with life skills and experience for their future.

Our Core Values

  • Creativity*
  • Humility*
  • Justice*
  • Hope*
  • Perseverence*
  • Truthfulness*

* These core values will be our focus for this academic year 2011-2012.

Head Teacher notes:

This half term's core value: Justice

Theme for this week (6- 10 February): ‘Justice for the world’

I hope that everyone has enjoyed the heavy dose of snow that arrived on Saturday night (I write this on Sunday evening). It looks as though the very cold weather is here for a while and we will keep you updated with important information via this website.

The ‘Honda School of Dreams’ was a great success last week. Please see Diss Express or click to the right of this page for photos.

This week we welcome Rev Clive Hudson from our local church to take assemblies.

You should have received a letter from me regarding the forthcoming Parent Governor election. Please do vote as this is a very important position and one that enables Parents and Carers to have a voice on the way the school is run. If the letter has been misplaced please contact the office for a replacement.

We close on Friday after school for a week and re-open on Monday 20th February. I hope that everyone has the chance to enjoy some quality family time- although I appreciate that not all of you have the luxury of a week off!

 Richard Cranmer
